SPORTS COACHING GROUP SWIM SCHOOL.

We are proud to announce our brand new Sports Coaching Group swim school using our pop-up pools you will have seen in our partner schools.

We are currently running our swim schools in Middlewich and Sandbach, where we aim to improve water confidence, safety skills, and ability through fun educational activities and games.

The SCG Hub addresses are as follows:

Unit 4c Brooks Lane Industrial Estate, Middlewich, CW10 0JG.

Moston Road, Sandbach, CW11 3HL.

Your child will need to bring suitable swimwear, a swimming hat, goggles if necessary with a towel, a change of clothes and shoes such as flip flops which are easily accessible. Changing room facilities are provided, however showers are NOT onsite, so please shower before you come to our facilities.

Don’t worry if you forget any of your things! We have a onsite shop which will sell the essentials.

FAQs

  • Ensure your child arrives SWIM READY for their class, this means they have their swimming costume on underneath their clothes so it is quick and easy to get them changed. They need to wear a swimming costume, swimming hat and optional goggles. We do have a small on site shop where swimming hats can be purchased at a cost of £3.

When exiting the pool there are three cubicles so please be aware there may be a slight wait to access a private cubicle. We recommend wearing clothes that are easy to put on quickly such as joggers/sweatshirts or even pyjamas and onesies. Don't forget a hat to pop on afterwards during the winter!

  • It is vitally important that non toilet trained children are wearing a suitable swim nappy. A normal nappy is not suitable as they soak up the pool water, swell and then explode! Any nappy accidents mean that we have to close the pool so please please please if you are unsure just ask!

  • Yes of course, at Middlewich we have a mezzanine area above the pool and at Sandbach we have a seating area to the side of the pool. Both venues have coffee and vending machines for refreshments and some activities to keep siblings entertained!

  • The pool is just one depth the whole way across - 1.4 metres. The pool is 10m in length and 5m in width.

  • The pool is heated to between 29-32°C.

  • Please ensure it is written in the medical info box on the class4kids website as the teacher and lifeguard will be able to see this, you can of course mention it to them when you come in too.

  • If your child has suffered with sickness or diarrhoea please ensure at least 48 hours has passed before you bring them swimming

  • Please try not to worry! All of our teachers are SEQ Level 2 swimming teachers, we have been delivering swimming lessons to at least 65 schools in the local area over the last 2 years. We have a LOT of experience delivering lessons to children who are new to swimming and we are really excited that your child will start their swimming journey with us. In our beginner lessons we have a maximum of 6 children, with the teacher and lifeguard in the water for support too.

  • We do not currently offer trials as it can sometimes take a few lessons for children to settle in with a new class, new teacher and new environment. You won't always see this in just one session so a trial may not reflect the experience your child will have over a whole term. We are confident that your child will love their lessons with us but if you do come across any issues we would love to help make it right, please email kforster@sportscoachinggroup.co.uk.
